I have nothing to say about watches.  For me, they’re like cars.  Utility is what works for me.  My car gets me from point A to point B, hopefully reliably.  My watch tells me the time, hopefully fairly accurately.  And it gives me the day and date, and is good for timing things in the kitchen.  When I was younger, I didn’t drink.  I was a good cook, with no interest in wine.  People could never understand that.  I wear a good (now retro) Casio 50M.  I get a new band every now and then.  And I think, at some point, the battery finally runs out. And so then I buy a new one.  Similar to the food and wine thing…I like nice clothes.  People can’t understand why I don’t have at least one nice, “fancy” (expensive, beautiful, well-made) watch.  I get the whole idea of incredible watches and incredible cars.  I’ve just never had the desire, nor felt the need.
